Job Title: Reading Instruction Specialist

Our organization, AdvancingMilestones, has provided state-of-the-art educational and therapeutic programs for students with autism and mental health challenges for nearly three decades.

We are looking for an experienced educator to join our team as a Reading Instruction Specialist, working with students aged 7-22 to enhance their reading abilities.

The successful candidate will possess strong teamwork and organizational skills, alongside a deep understanding of special education principles.

As part of our Reading Team, you will play a crucial role in improving literacy skills for students with diverse reading needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Establish a positive learning environment that fosters growth and development.
  • Monitor student progress through standardized and non-standardized assessments.
  • Design and implement tailored learning plans for each student, incorporating IEP goals and regular progress updates.
  • Deliver targeted instruction to individuals or small groups, assessing the effectiveness of lessons and making adjustments as needed.
  • Participate in school events, such as the annual book fair.
Necessary Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's Degree, Master's degree preferred.
  2. ESL/TESOL certification advantageous.
  3. Empathy and understanding of students' needs and parents' concerns.
