Job Title: RF Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced RF Design Engineer to join our team at MBDA, a leading defence organisation. As an RF Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the research, design, and testing of cutting-edge radio-frequency technology for integration into our complex weapons systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop RF circuits and systems for a wide range of applications, including LNA Amplifier, High Power Amplifier, filter, local oscillator, synthesiser, modulator design, etc.
  • Perform design proving tests and trials in the onsite laboratory
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets manufacturing and testing requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest RF design tools and technologies, including Microwave Office

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in RF design and testing, with a focus on component-level design
  • Strong understanding of RF circuit design principles and techniques
  • Excellent practical skills, including soldering, fault finding, and the use of RF test equipment
  • Good knowledge of digital, analogue, and power supply design
  • Experience using RF design tools, including layout
  • Fully conversant with manufacturing techniques and capabilities, including design for manufacture and test
