Job Title: Mechanical CAD Technician

About the Role:

Glasswell & Last Ltd is seeking a skilled Mechanical CAD Technician to join our growing mechanical design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing accurate general arrangement, fabrication, and as-built drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production of accurate general arrangement, fabrication, and as-built drawings
  • Production of other required design outputs, including bills of quantities and collation of manufacturer's technical datasheets
  • Effective use of document management techniques within a BIM environment
  • Liaising with the project management team to develop project costings
  • Liaising with our fabrication and installation teams to clarify technical details

Requirements:

  • Experience with Autodesk software, such as AutoCAD or Inventor
  • Good computer skills, with experience using common software packages like MS Word and Excel
  • Full UK driving licence and use of your own car (mileage reimbursed in line with HMRC rates)

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to create 3D models from various stages of design input using Inventor
  • Recognised time served apprenticeship in a related discipline
  • ONC, OND, HNC, HND, or Degree in mechanical, production, or structural engineering

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player
