Axcis Education Recruitment is proud to partner with mainstream village primary schools in Devon to deliver high-quality support services. We are currently seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant with a specialization in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to create a secure, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that caters to the needs of all pupils, with a particular focus on children with SEND.

Responsibilities
  • Support children with SEND by providing tailored support, either within the classroom or in a separate setting as required.
  • Monitor and record the progress of pupils with additional needs, contributing to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assist with the adaptation of teaching materials and methods to meet diverse learning requirements.
  • Foster effective relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and external agencies involved in the children's education.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings and training sessions relevant to the role.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of SEND and have experience working with children with additional needs. They must also be able to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively.

The salary for this role is estimated at £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
