Job Summary:

Harris Global seeks a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage costs related to highway projects from initial planning through to project completion. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and stakeholders to support successful project delivery, adhering to legal and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Commercial Management: Responsible for the robust commercial management of various projects, working closely with customers and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery, compliant with contractual terms and achieving business plan commitments.
  2. Cost Management: Engage with supply chain partners and manage all costs related to projects by contractual agreements.
  3. Financial Reporting: Monitor and report on the commercial position of projects within your remit to ensure the project team can make informed decisions and there are no surprises to our clients or customers.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related course (or equivalent qualification/relevant experience)
  • Hold or work towards a professional membership with a recognised and relevant Professional body (desirable)
  • CSCS card holder (desirable)
  • PTS card holder (desirable - rail only)

Experience and Knowledge:
  • Proven and recurring success in a Quantity Surveying role
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • General knowledge of monitoring cost performance of projects and contract administration
  • Evidence of building effective relationships with teams
  • Track record in successfully managing and delivering against deadlines
  • Experience in a civil engineering environment
  • Good level of IT proficiency
  • General knowledge of cost management software and tools
  • Understanding of Lean principles (desirable)
