Job Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Design Engineer to join our team at Leonardo SpA. The successful candidate will have experience in designing and developing firmware for complex digital systems, using world-class facilities and tools such as Matlab and Simulink.

In this role, you will work with experts to deliver firmware for complex digital systems that meet challenging future customer requirements. You will be responsible for auto-generated code using model-driven engineering techniques, derivation of detailed firmware requirements and architecture from system requirements, and structured approach to firmware design (RTCA DO-254 or similar).

You will also have the opportunity to work on cryptography and anti-tamper techniques, artificial intelligence including machine learning and genetic algorithms, and electronic test methods and equipment.

The salary for this position is approximately £62,500 per annum, depending on location and experience.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

* HNC/HND or Undergraduate Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Games Programming, Physics, or Applied Physics
* 5 years UK residency and ability to achieve full SC security clearance
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Experience within the defence industry is desirable but not essential
