Reed HR is partnering with an organisation in Kent to find a dedicated Health and Safety Manager (SHEQ) to develop and maintain the health and safety and environmental management system.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain a health, safety, and environmental management system.
- Provide proactive advice on health, safety, and environmental requirements to all levels of line management.
- Ensure all accidents, incidents, unsafe acts, and conditions are reported, recorded, and fully investigated to determine root cause.
- Support line management to comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Review and update safe working procedures, ensuring all personnel adhere to these.
- Maintain risk assessments for all known hazards.
- Ensure all employees are suitably trained to carry out their work safely.
- Keep the management team informed on changes to legislation under health, safety, and environment.
- Provide performance reports, set targets and objectives for improvements and risk reduction.
- Communicate health, safety, and environmental issues effectively to all staff.
- Relevant industry health & safety qualifications and accreditations.
- Proven track record in managing site health & safety issues at a senior level.
- Strong action and technical skills with a thorough understanding of production processes.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities using rigorous logic and methods.
- High integrity and trustworthiness, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and admit mistakes.
- Competent in managing and measuring work, setting clear objectives and measures.
- Skilled in priority setting and time management.
- Ability to stand alone and be counted, especially during challenging times.
