Project Engineer Job Description

RC Fornax is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to lead the definition, management, and delivery of engineering projects and bids. The successful candidate will provide a critical interface between Engineering, Project Management, and other company departments.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Translate customer requirements into measurable engineering terms, adhering to project Systems Engineering Management Plans.
  2. Define engineering project deliverables, ensuring timely and budget-friendly completion.
  3. Manage design project data, including holding and documenting timely design reviews.
  4. Oversee overall system design, ensuring compliance with company procedures and processes.
  5. Manage design resources, ensuring efficient use of time and budget.
  6. Liaise with Project Managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  7. Contribute to the continuous development of business processes and systems.
Requirements:
  1. Engineering degree in a relevant field.
  2. IEng membership of a relevant professional institution.
  3. Proven experience in a Project Engineer role.
  4. CEng or ability to achieve CEng within 3 years.
Key Skills:
  1. 3D CAD skills, preferably with SolidWorks.
  2. Knowledge of drawing standards, including BS 8888 and geometrical tolerancing.
  3. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  4. Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  5. Experience with drawing issue control using PDM and design of automotive systems.
  6. Structural analysis using first principles and FEA.
  7. Vehicle testing using data logging and instrumentation.
