Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Homecare team at West Herts. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing homecare prescriptions, reviewing and submitting high-cost drug funding applications, and working closely with the Lead Pharmacy Technician in Homecare & High-Cost Drugs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Liaise with staff within pharmacy, within the Trust, and external organisations to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Attend homecare sourcing group meetings to represent West Herts and contribute to the work plan of this group.
  • Participate in weekend/bank holiday and late duty rotas in the dispensary, and support the stores & distribution team during periods of heavy workload.
Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • NVQ Level 3 and/or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
    • Evidence of further post-qualification training.
    • Current registration as Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Desirable:
    • Accredited Checking Technician Qualification.
Requirements
  • Significant post-qualification NHS hospital experience, including Pharmacy Homecare Services and procurement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
