Foster Care Support Worker Job Description

Polaris Community is seeking a skilled Foster Care Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting foster parents and their families.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Supporting foster parents to provide a safe and healthy environment for children and young people.
  • Monitoring foster parent suitability and competence through regular visits and assessments.
  • Providing regular supervision to allocated foster parents to ensure they are meeting child care standards.
  • Working collaboratively with social workers, health visitors, and other professionals to identify and meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant child safeguarding procedures and policies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent report-writing skills and the ability to produce high-quality documents.
  • A full driving licence and confidence in transporting children and young people.
