About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Service Delivery Assistant. As a key member of our station team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our train services and providing exceptional customer service to our passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding customer service and assistance to passengers, responding to their queries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure safe and timely train dispatch, working closely with our train crew and other station staff to maintain a safe and efficient service.
  • Provide helpful information and assistance to customers, including answering questions about train schedules, fares, and other travel-related information.
  • Prioritize the safety of customers, colleagues, and visitors, adhering to our safety procedures and protocols at all times.
  • Keep the station clean and secure, maintaining a high standard of presentation and ensuring that our facilities are clean and well-maintained.
  • Collaborate with our teams to provide real-time information during disruptions, ensuring that our customers are kept informed and up-to-date with any changes to our service.
  • Enhance customer security through your strong visibility within the station, providing a reassuring presence for our passengers.
What We're Looking For
  • A strong team player, able to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
  • Excellent communication and basic numeracy skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Computer literate and comfortable using apps, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technology.
Working Pattern

You must be flexible to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Shifts are generally or, but may include if rostered in the night link.

Additional Information

This is a talent pool vacancy aimed at filling both current and upcoming opportunities. Interviews for shortlisted candidates are tentatively scheduled for the week commencing 21 October 2024.

What to Expect
  • After submitting your application, you'll complete an online assessment (recommended on a laptop/computer).
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a competency-based interview.
  • Successful applicants will need to pass a medical assessment, including a color vision test and drug and alcohol screening, as well as a Basic DBS check.
  • Full training will be provided, including a 3-week training programme in Swindon.
