Plant Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Plant Fitter to join our team at Digger Parts Direct Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending customer sites to repair and maintain a wide range of construction and agricultural equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance, with experience working on heavy equipment such as diggers, dumpers, and rollers. Knowledge of telehandlers and forklifts is a plus, but not essential.

The role will involve carrying out servicing and general repairs, finding and diagnosing faults, and complying with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a small team, and will be required to liaise with customers by phone and in person.

The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 7am-4:30pm, with overtime and Saturday work available. A competitive salary and negotiable dependent on qualifications and experience, with a company vehicle available if required.

The successful candidate will also be entitled to a company pension, flexitime, free parking, and sick pay.

Key responsibilities:

  • Attend customer sites to repair and maintain equipment
  • Carry out servicing and general repairs
  • Diagnose and repair faults
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Liaise with customers by phone and in person

Requirements:

  • Strong background in mechanical repair and maintenance
  • Experience working on heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of telehandlers and forklifts (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
