Maintenance Engineer Position

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer at Holt Recruitment, you will be responsible for proactive and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and infrastructure in a demanding production environment. Your goal will be to deliver high plant uptime and contribute to the continuous improvement of production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage your time and resources to deliver departmental and factory requirements in accordance with business priorities.
  2. Perform maintenance, fault finding, and repair of production equipment, including plastic injection moulding machines, ancillaries, plant, and general factory infrastructure.
  3. Complete general maintenance checks in-line with the maintenance register.
  4. Conduct documented safety checks on moulding machines in-line with the equipment safety check sheet.
  5. Complete documented preventative maintenance checks on moulding machines and ancillary equipment in-line with the preventative maintenance check sheet.
  6. Conduct weekly fire safety alarm checks.
  7. Routine water checks on the company cooling system, including legionella and salt levels, and update the company portal with relevant details.
  8. Manage the company's PAT requirements and arrange for 3rd party completion.
  9. Assist the engineering team with the installation of new equipment.
  10. Aid the tooling maintenance team when needed.

Requirements:

  1. Time-served multi-skilled Maintenance Technician/Engineer with electrical and mechanical maintenance knowledge.
  2. Hold an engineering qualification, ideally along with a formal practical electrical qualification.
  3. Competent in electrical circuits, including single phase, 3 phase to 415V, and 12/24V DC.
  4. A strong manufacturing background is essential, with proven experience in faultfinding and repair of machinery such as Moulding Machines, CNC machining centres, Conveyors & Robotics.
  5. Experience of plastics processing machinery is not essential but would be advantageous.
  6. Competent in the use of office IT systems, including MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access Databases.

Desirable:

  1. Experience of PLC faultfinding/interrogation.
  2. Manufacturing robotics knowledge, including programming, fault finding, and implementation of new systems using robotics and fully automated manufacturing systems.
  3. Mould tool maintenance.

The Ideal Candidate:

  1. Currently working or has worked as a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician/Engineer.
  2. Thrives in a busy industrial/production environment.
  3. Strong diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical faults on manufacturing plant.
  4. Flexible and versatile.
