Thornton Tomasetti is a global leader in engineering and scientific consulting. We're seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our team in Edinburgh (Dalgety Bay). This on-site role will involve providing technical support to local office and remote users, ensuring timely resolution of end-user issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first- and second-level technical support to local office and remote users
  • Maintain accreditation document set, including policies, procedures, and security instructions
  • Ensure smooth running of local network and infrastructure
  • Monitor and troubleshoot backup solution and test Disaster Recovery processes
  • Maintain asset register and carry out annual audit checks
  • Responsible for all local system administration related to network and server infrastructure
  • Contribute to service desk knowledgebase and documentation as needed
  • Assist with the administration of our UK SharePoint environment
  • Collaborate with business and IT management to continuously improve the IT Environment and capture new requirements for IT projects and initiatives

Requirements

  • Excellent technical knowledge of Dell computer and Server hardware
  • Broad knowledge of LAN, WAN, Wireless, Security, and Software Deployment technologies
  • Knowledge of server and storage-based virtualization technologies
  • A Defence or Government background would be advantageous
  • Some UK and international travel as required

Qualifications

  • Diploma or university degree in Computing or equivalent experience
  • Professional IT certifications such as CompTIA Security+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA
  • The successful candidate will need to obtain UK Security clearance
