Consultant Psychiatrist with a Focus on Rehabilitation Services

We are seeking a talented and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team at the NHS. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to work with a dedicated group of professionals who share your passion for delivering excellent patient care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in adult community psychiatry, with a focus on rehabilitation services. As a leading Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical leadership and guidance to junior staff members, while also contributing to service planning and development initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include developing and implementing effective treatment plans, collaborating with colleagues to improve patient outcomes, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. You will also be expected to make a significant contribution to the service and directorate planning process through active participation in the clinical directorate structure.

As part of our on-call consultant rota, you will participate in the 1 in 20 on-call consultant rota across the Swansea Bay UHB area, with prospective cover. In exceptional circumstances, it may also be necessary to undertake duties at other locations within the Health Board.

We offer a competitive salary of £106,000 to £154,760 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience. Our organization values its staff and provides a supportive working environment, with opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

Key Requirements:

  • Registered with the GMC and licensed to practice
  • Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview
  • Primary CCT or endorsement in CAMHS or General Adult Psychiatry
  • Teaching qualification/Higher qualification in medical education

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience of developing and implementing effective working relationships with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of Prudent Healthcare principles and ability to apply them in practice
  • Clinical Skills Section 12 approval
  • Demonstrated learning in Improvement science and methodology
