About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our NABIS Systems & Information Team as a Data and Information Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a high level of information assurance across the organization through the continuous improvement of information management practices.
  • Correct force records within the NABIS database in accordance with legal obligations and policy.
  • Liaise with business areas to identify training issues, recurring errors, and ways to improve any poor information management practices identified.
  • Conduct proactive audit/dip sample of NABIS systems, and process highlighting data quality, Information Management, and Security concerns.
  • Monitor trends and anomalies within source data, reporting findings accurately and appropriately.
  • Ensure appropriate use of NABIS information assets (systems, buildings, and equipment) and report any suspected misuse.
  • Support external training to ensure that forces maximize opportunities through correct use of the NABIS database.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of MoPI, Data Protection Act 1998, Government Security Classification Scheme, Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, and Freedom of Information Act 2000.
  • Microsoft Office Proficient, in particular MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good planning and organization skills.
Desirable
  • Previous experience of Police IT Systems such as: Crimes, ICIS, IMS, QPulse, Discoverer, PNC, PND, and Business Objects.
  • Training qualification, or training experience, or be prepared to be trained as a trainer.
