Accounts Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our finance team in Guildford, Surrey.

The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to ensure the efficient running of the department, including the purchase ledger function and aspects of legal cashiering.

The role involves:

  • Setting up new supplier and expense accounts
  • Coding and posting invoices/expenses to nominal accounts
  • Paying invoices/expenses when due
  • Completing office account bank reconciliations
  • Assisting the Management Accountant with analysis of nominal accounts and other reconciliations
  • Dealing with email and telephone queries
  • Assisting Legal Cashiers with banking of client cheques, billing, and other ad-hoc tasks
  • Authorizing payments for cashiers

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of purchase ledger experience, with the ability to handle a large volume of transactions
  • Organizational and administrative skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Microsoft Outlook/Excel proficiency
  • General IT literacy
