Deputy General Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy General Manager to join our team at the Avon Gorge Hotel, part of the Hotel Du Vin group. As a Deputy General Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the hotel, working closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in the overall management of the hotel, including staff supervision, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve hotel performance, including revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and motivate a team of department managers and staff to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve business objectives.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department to maximize revenue in F&B and M&E spaces.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in hotel management, preferably in a similar sized property.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of food and drink operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff training.
