Senior Procurement Category Manager (Health) - 12 FTC

NHS SBS is seeking a skilled Senior Procurement Category Manager to join their health category management team on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of buying staff of different levels.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement short and long-term category strategies to drive uptake of portfolio across the landscape.
  • Lead a portfolio of projects, working closely with key partners to influence procurement choice, drive savings and efficiencies, and improve quality.
  • Offer procurement support to the Customer Service Directorates, Heads of Procurement, and Key Leaders on a national footprint.
  • Manage teams and resources, as well as internal and external collaborator management.
  • Experience in public sector procurement and compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, including relevant policy and guidance.
  • Understanding and experience of e-sourcing and e-procurement solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing category strategies to drive business growth and improvement.
  • Leading a team of procurement professionals to deliver high-quality services.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
  • Managing budgets and resources to deliver value for money.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in procurement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in public sector procurement and compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience with e-sourcing and e-procurement solutions.
