About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Maintenance Compliance Engineer to join our elite maintenance team at Breedon Group plc. This is a key role that requires a strong understanding of maintenance compliance and the ability to work closely with a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lifting Equipment Management: Ensure that all lifting equipment, including beams, hoists, lifting accessories, shackles, chains, slings, and girder clamps, are properly maintained and inspected to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Compressed Air Systems Management: Oversee the maintenance and inspection of compressed air systems, including compressor maintenance, air receiver inspection, and pipeline surveys to ensure safe operation and leak detection.
  • LEV and Plant Filtration Systems Management: Ensure the inspection and maintenance of local exhaust ventilation (LEV) and plant filtration systems to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Lubrication Strategy Execution: Implement and manage our plant lubrication strategy, including stock management and storage compliance.
  • Hydraulic Pressure Systems Management: Ensure that hydraulic pressure systems, including kiln thrusters, are kept leak-free and in safe operation.
  • Water Systems Management: Ensure that water storage tanks and cooling systems are compliant with Legionella regulations.
  • Oil and Gas Storage Management: Ensure that oil and gas storage facilities are compliant with COMAH and COSHH regulations.
  • FLT Management: Ensure that forklift trucks (FLT's) are properly maintained and inspected to meet PUWER regulations.
  • Machine Guarding Management: Ensure that all guarding on fixed plant machinery and rotating equipment is in good working order and meets regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with the team and stakeholders.
  • Engineering Supervision Skills: Proven ability to supervise a small team of maintenance operators and contract partners.
  • Critical Thinking: Proven solution-oriented critical thinking to identify and resolve maintenance-related issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Business Management Systems Knowledge: Sound understanding of business management systems, including relevant standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • IT Skills: Good knowledge of core IT systems, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Project, and Visio.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and driven with the ability to prioritize and manage a varied workload.
  • Knowledge of Regulations: Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, including Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR), and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (COSHH).
