We are seeking a skilled handyman and maintenance worker to join our team at Service Care Solutions - Housing. As a facilities maintenance technician, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, joinery, carpentry, and painting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, joinery, carpentry, and painting.
- Moving and transferring large and small items between properties as needed.
- Supporting property inspections, PAT testing, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Participating in property improvement and refurbishment works, including assembly of flat-pack furniture and installation of white goods.
- Assisting in the turnaround of properties, including repairs, cleaning, and restocking utilities.
- Performing grounds maintenance, treating pest infestations, and removing bulky refuse.
- Occasionally traveling to clients' service areas in Wigan and Cheshire West for maintenance tasks.
Essential qualifications and skills include:
- A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent work experience, with a willingness to achieve a Level 3 qualification.
- Physical strength and dexterity for carrying heavy loads, working at heights, and in awkward spaces.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in basic plumbing, joinery, carpentry, decorating, and general maintenance.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures in an office environment.
- Regular travel required, with access to a car and business mileage payable.
