Our client is a leading organisation in the UK's corrugated packaging and display sector, collaborating with top brands and utilising advanced technologies to produce high-performance products.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to ensure the continuous running of our production machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for minimising downtime, performing fault finding and repair, and maintaining plant and equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a right first-time maintenance service to promote high-quality products and services
  • Maintain plant and equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
  • Identify spare parts to effect repairs using machine manufacturer's manuals and order through stores
  • Maintain engineering standards and records in accordance with ISO 9001 and 9002
  • Follow up on outstanding issues to a successful conclusion
  • Carry out weekly detailed inspections, maintain logs and defect report sheets
  • Maintain and improve plant efficiency through planned PPMs of production machines
  • Complete detailed maintenance reports using a computer-based maintenance package
  • Report any dangerous occurrences or unsafe machine conditions
  • Carry out SUSA discussions and monthly internal safety audits

Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship (HNC/HND are desirable)
  • IOSH/NEBOSH
  • FLT/cherry picker licence (or willingness to obtain)
  • Welding
  • First Aid
  • Two years minimum experience in an FMCG production environment
  • Experience with steam systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PPM/TPM maintenance operations
