Cost Management Expert

Mace is a leading consultant that helps clients achieve their goals through innovative solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for providing cost management services from contract signature to completion. Your expertise will be invaluable in advising on the issue of certificates, preparing cost control and reporting services, and ensuring the project stays within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses, and assist in formal execution by the appropriate parties.
  • Advise on the administration of building contract terms.
  • Measure and provide valuations of work carried out and adjust variations in accordance with contract terms and agree with the contractor.
  • Provide cost control and reporting services during the contract.
  • Prepare financial reports for clients in the required form and frequency.
  • Identify all costs associated with design changes, contract awards, construction activities, and client charges.
  • Participate in the evaluation of claims for delay and additional costs made by the contractor and nominated subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Advise on the issue of certificates of practical completion and ensure final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
  • Deliver improvements in systems and processes, driving transformational change.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.

Requirements:

  • Degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent.
  • Proficient knowledge and expertise in specific sectors/markets of projects/roles.
  • Relevant technical qualification/certification for project portfolios.
  • Experience in most forms of contract.
  • Sound knowledge and ability to undertake and advise on contract administration and contract management.
  • Effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to seek opportunities for implementing improved working practices.
  • Manage relevant stakeholders for projects.
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal skills to prepare reports, negotiate, and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills for resolving cost and contract administration and procurement issues within consult.
  • Understand personal strengths and weaknesses, seek learning, and support where appropriate.
