We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Support Professional to join our team at a primary school in Poulton-le-Fylde. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment for our students.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a primary school setting, particularly within Key Stage 1. They will be passionate about supporting young learners' development of key skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning.

About the Role:
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering educational activities for Year 1 students.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups to support students' understanding of core subjects, such as reading, writing, and maths.
  • Assist with classroom management, encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Help monitor and record students' progress, providing valuable feedback to the teacher.
  • Foster a safe, nurturing environment that encourages children's social and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the teacher in creating engaging lesson plans and activities.
  2. Provide individualized support to students who require additional assistance.
  3. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies.
  4. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, is highly desirable.
  • Patient, approachable, and passionate about supporting young children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and phonics programs is an advantage.
