Job Title: Perinatal Optimisation Specialist Midwife

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife Specialist to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the provision of care for women and families requiring additional support within the complexity of Perinatal Optimisation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the care and support of women who are at an increased risk of preterm labour and birth, those suspected or confirmed preterm labour, or those who are having a planned preterm birth.
  • Work closely with maternal medicine and fetal medicine midwives to plan and coordinate care, with the woman at the centre of decision making.
  • Lead the development of the perinatal optimisation service, ensuring a high standard of care is delivered.

Requirements:

  • Registered Midwife
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Willing to undergo training as necessary

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognised management/leadership qualification
  • Recognised teaching/assessing qualification
  • Experience of managing and leading a team
  • Knowledge around current issues on healthcare

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and think critically
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team

Working Arrangements:

The post holder will work from East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, providing collaborative care as part of the multi-professional team (MDT).
