Digital Midwife

The post holder will be responsible for reviewing the maternity service digital requirements, seeking to expand the digital profile and integrate a full digital system.
They will lead the continuous development of the maternity IT system, reviewing, assessing, and enhancing the information systems. The post holder will coordinate the integration of systems into clinical care, requiring elements such as IT helpdesk and network support, clinical requirements, quality, safety, and effective collaboration.
The post holder will provide digital and clinical leadership, educating, supporting, inspiring, motivating, and empowering others in line with the national vision. They will be supported to obtain and sustain a deep understanding of digital technology and the transformation of maternity systems.
The post holder will establish good team relationships and collaboration within the wider East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, third sector colleagues, and local maternity systems.
Main Duties of the Job- As an IT ambassador for the Midwifery profession, the post holder will ensure clinical practice is supported by digital technology, meeting the required professional standards.
- The post holder will be accountable for their own professional actions and be a lead specialist for perinatal digital IT, acting within clearly defined policies and procedures.
- They will ensure the maternity IT system functionality is adhered to, supporting practitioners' professional standards.
