Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the digital transformation of the maternity service, with a focus on integrating and supporting a full digital system. This will involve reviewing digital requirements, assessing and enhancing information systems, and coordinating the integration of systems into clinical care.

They will provide digital and clinical leadership, educating and supporting staff to meet the required professional standards. This will include ensuring that clinical practice is supported by digital technology, and that the maternity IT system functionality is adhered to.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with healthcare administration IT systems, and up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues. They will also have excellent presentation skills, and knowledge of Trust guidelines and policies.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the digital transformation of the maternity service
  • Reviewing digital requirements and assessing and enhancing information systems
  • Coordinating the integration of systems into clinical care
  • Providing digital and clinical leadership to staff
  • Ensuring that clinical practice is supported by digital technology

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A registered midwifery qualification and experience at band 6
  • A first level degree in a related healthcare discipline or substantial experiential equivalence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of working with healthcare administration IT systems
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
