Quality Assurance Engineer - Aerospace Manufacturing

Our client, a leading provider of precision engineering solutions and services, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team in Oldham. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of precision machined components for the Aerospace industry sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and conduct inspections and tests to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Maintain and develop robust quality plans and procedures for machined components.
  • Inspect and verify parts across all stages of the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct First Article Inspection Reporting (FAIR) and perform Root Cause Analysis and resolution.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure quality and production targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality management systems.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally gained within a Precision Engineering and/or Aerospace manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR AS9102).
  • Conversant in the use of Mechanical Measurement Equipment (verniers, micrometers, calipers gauges etc.).
  • Knowledge of performing first-off, stage and final inspection.
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Capable of working independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills and computer literacy, including strong Excel skills.
  • Previous experience performing Quality Audits would be highly desirable.
