About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible General Assistant to join our team at British Antarctic Survey, High Cross, Cambridge, CB3 0ET. As a General Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and providing exceptional customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain the back of house and front of house areas, including floors, pots, pans, and general work areas.
  • Complete all online training and adhere to food hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Assist in food preparation and cooking, serving food and beverages to customers, and operating tills and handling cash.
  • Restock goods, ensure appropriate displays of merchandise, and perform daily paperwork.
  • Report to line manager any feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock needs, breakages, faults, or hazards identified during the course of the work.
Requirements

We are looking for a great team player with a positive attitude, flexibility with shift patterns, and a DBS check. Previous experience in a front of house or kitchen role is preferred, but on-the-job training will be provided.
