Enhance Mental Health Services as an Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate occupational therapist to join our community mental health team in Cornwall.

In collaboration with system partners, we will expand and improve all aspects of mental health services, including investments in acute care pathways and specialist services aligned with the NHS Long Term Plan.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide new and innovative care solutions to the people of Cornwall.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and further develop the current occupational therapy role within the Community Mental Health Team, including 1:1 and group provision.
  • Provide occupational therapy to a defined caseload of patients within the Community Mental Health Service, utilizing evidence-based practice, occupational therapy process, and client-centered principles.
  • Contribute to assessment and planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions within the context of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Support the development of the Trust Occupational Therapy Service and best practice initiatives.
  • Assist with the development of the occupational therapy support worker role within the team.

Requirements:Education:
  • HCPC registration.
  • BSc/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent specialist experience (e.g., AMPS, Sensory Integration, DBT).
Experience:
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary services within the community.
  • Current experience within a mental health setting.

Estimated Salary: £35,540 - £45,707 per annum
