We are seeking an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Brent Integrated Psychology and Psychotherapy Service, as part of our acute psychology provision.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will support the acute Clinical Psychologists and multidisciplinary teams in their work, delivering psychologically informed interventions. This will involve individual and group work, with a focus on short-term, intensive work. The role will also involve supporting the implementation of trauma-informed care within services. There will be opportunities for service-related research and audit, as well as the chance to undertake some teaching and training for non-psychologist colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the formulation and delivery of care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client's problems, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
  • Work with other staff to assess community, day patients, or residents and review their care in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews.
Person Specification:
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Further postgraduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice, and/or research design and analysis.

  • An ability to work effectively in a team and provide support to colleagues.
