Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Anti-Fraud Expert Lead to join our Payments team at OVO Energy. This is a critical role that will play a significant part in preventing payment fraud and ensuring the security of our customers' data.

About You

As a Fraud Prevention Strategist, you will be responsible for building and implementing a comprehensive fraud management strategy across our business areas. This includes developing and maintaining a fraud playbook, identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, and working closely with our Info-Sec, DPia, Product, and Tech teams to ensure fraud prevention is integrated into our product and tech landscapes.

You will also be expected to lead and support investigations into potential fraudulent activity, using analysis from our Payment Fraud Data team to publish findings on fraud trends and patterns. Additionally, you will establish relationships with key partners and stakeholders, communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of team members, and work collaboratively to promote purpose-led, data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and regularly update OVO's Fraud playbook
  • Develop Fraud strategy and identify partners and supporting products to help eliminate payments fraud at OVO
  • Publish findings on fraud trends and patterns using analysis from the Payment Fraud Data team
  • Work with Info-sec, DPia, Product, and Tech teams to ensure fraud prevention is considered
  • Proactively search and test vulnerabilities in customer and agent journeys to identify vulnerabilities from internal and external actors
  • Establish relationships with key partners and stakeholders
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with a wide range of team members
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need experience building out fraud strategies for payment-critical businesses, knowledge and experience within Fraud, especially Payments Fraud, and data literacy. You should be comfortable leading and supporting investigations, understanding the necessity for confidentiality, and able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £45,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on your specific skills and experience. You will also be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%, as well as a range of green benefits and progressive policies to help you feel like you belong at OVO.
