About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cover Tutor to join our education team at HMYOI Wetherby. As a Cover Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting our learners to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, which will ultimately help them secure future employment opportunities post-release.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to small group sizes, focusing on Functional Skills English
  • Work collaboratively with our team of dedicated professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to individual learners' needs
  • Provide one-to-one support to learners as required, working closely with Learning Support Practitioners and Student Support Workers
  • Contribute to the development of a positive learner experience, ensuring that all learners feel valued and supported
Requirements
  • Teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (new standards) qualification within a specified timeframe
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Track record of effective teaching in subject specialism
  • Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
