Lead Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist

The Lead Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist is a key position within the Haematology Directorate at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. In this role, you will provide expert clinical care, utilizing your extensive knowledge and practical experience to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
Responsibilities
This position involves a range of responsibilities, including:
- Developing and implementing training programs for chemotherapy administrators.
- Disseminating information on new treatments and therapies within Haematology.
- Maintaining competency registers for intrathecal and chemotherapy administration.
- Providing education and support to staff within Haematology and the wider UHB.
- Administering chemotherapy out of areas.
- Conducting risk assessments and investigations.
- Driving workforce development to ensure staff can deliver safe, effective, and timely care.
- Delivering specialist educational programs to healthcare professionals.
- Providing up-to-date evidence-based care.
- Utilizing advanced nursing skills to undertake specialist assessments and make informed decisions.
- Devising, prescribing, evaluating, and documenting care and treatment outcomes.
- Assessing patients' conditions and advising/prescribing/administering medication within best practice guidelines.
