Principal Structural Engineer - Water Frameworks

We are working with a multi-national consultancy, Strata Construction Consulting, to appoint a Principal Structural Engineer to their office in Shrewsbury. This role involves leading the structural delivery of major projects and programmes across a wide portfolio of water frameworks.

As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of projects encompassing water retaining concrete structures, dams/reservoirs, concrete and steel buildings, site inspections, and assessment of existing structures. Key material design expertise will be needed with concrete, steel, and masonry.

You will also provide mentoring and guidance to more junior members of the team, helping to develop their careers. There may also be further opportunities in future to support the business delivering solutions in key areas such as Energy, Buildings, and Transportation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading structural engineering projects, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines
  • Conducting structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as Tedds, STAAD.PRO, Robot, or similar FEM analysis software
  • Experience working in a 3D design environment
  • Confident communication, able to explain engineering concepts clearly and simply to a range of stakeholders

Requirements include:

  • MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
