Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Stress Engineer to join our team at Electus Recruitment Solutions. As a Stress Engineer, you will play a critical role in providing technical solutions for the design and lifetime management of steam turbines and condensers for power generation or propulsion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze components for strength and integrity using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques and hand calculation methods.
  • Assist in the definition and verification of weld types for strength and fatigue analysis.
  • Identify design deficiencies through analysis and propose improvements to features.
  • Analyze features and components for safe lifting during build and installation.
  • Develop and maintain FE models, write analysis plans, and report on results.
  • Participate in design reviews, customer presentations, and meetings.

Requirements:

  • Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the analysis of mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in FEA packages, preferably Abaqus and ANSYS.
  • Knowledge of ASME and DNV Codes.
  • Technical expertise in rotating equipment, particularly turbines.
