We are seeking a highly skilled Research Advisor to join our team at the British Heart Foundation. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the advancement of cardiovascular research and make a significant impact in the field.

As a Research Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting all aspects of fellowship funding, including advising applicants, reviewing applications, and providing feedback. You will also conduct due diligence on project proposals and funded projects, as well as support the Fellowships Committee peer review processes and meetings.

You will work closely with Senior Research Advisors, Research Grants Managers, and Research Grants Officers during funding cycles and grant applications and awards. We have two opportunities available in the team, one focusing on Clinical areas and the other on Basic science.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual-located between your home and our London office. As a proactive member of the team, you will possess outstanding attention to detail, analytical and interpersonal skills, and excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational abilities.

You will serve as an ambassador for the British Heart Foundation and its research achievements, promoting our mission and research funding schemes. To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A PhD or equivalent in a biomedical science discipline
  • An understanding of basic science and clinical careers
  • Experience of cardiovascular or related research at doctoral or postdoctoral levels, with experience of supporting clinicians in an NHS R&D role or similar environment being beneficial for the Clinical role
  • Experience of research grant evaluation and administration
  • The ability to interpret complex research data and communicate it to lay audiences
  • Knowledge of clinical career paths and/or specific needs and difficulties of clinician scientists (for the Clinical role)
  • Understanding of career trajectory within academia and main areas where support would be beneficial (for the Basic science role)

We offer an estimated salary of £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as excellent benefits including 30 days annual leave, private medical insurance, dental health cover, pension, and flexible working arrangements.
