Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of our next-generation air-breathing ion propulsion system and satellite. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of building complex systems, including expertise in CAD, technical drawings, tolerances, and structural analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Own the design and development of next-generation structures and mechanisms.
- Rapidly iterate on manufacturing processes and development testing in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to develop, assess, and optimize designs.
- Conduct trade studies to optimize for cost, schedule, safety, and performance, among other considerations.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and analysis.
- Exceptional skills in CAD modeling and drawing preparation.
- Demonstrated understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of complex mechanical systems.
- Extensive experience in using FEM software (e.g. ANSYS) is required.
- Experience with structures, mechanisms, or interior design in aerospace or aviation industries.
- Solid understanding and application of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

Application ProcessOur interview process consists of four stages. The initial stage involves a call with Alex, followed by two interviews with our founders, Anatolii and Ruslan. If you progress successfully through these stages, you will be invited to complete a set of technical tasks, which will be reviewed and discussed during the fourth and final interview. If feasible, we would also like to invite you to our facilities in Reading as part of the final interview. Here you will get the chance to meet the rest of our team and tour our laboratories and office spaces.
