Plant Operator

We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Plant Operator to join our team at Stericycle. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of clinical waste at our Avonmouth plant.
Key Responsibilities- Unload vehicles and trailers, and effectively manoeuvre waste on the plant and weigh containers.
- Ensure waste containers are emptied, cleaned thoroughly, and readily available for collection.
- Coordinate the reception of all deliveries to the plant, including suppliers and contractors.
- Oversee the safe handling of loose waste into containers by deliverers.
- Operate a forklift truck as required.
- Participate in plant shutdowns as necessary.
- Maintain company operational records and data specific to the job function.
- Draw attention to management any major defects, concerns, or problems with equipment or the building.
- Work under the direction of and assist the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager in their duties during breakdowns or controlled stoppages.
- Observe and comply with all safety notices and signs, and ensure all work is carried out in a safe and proper manner.
- Attend training courses or instruction specific to the job as required.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to ensure safe compliance and continuation of operations at the plant.
- Comply with company health and safety procedures.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individual.
- Team player able to work effectively under pressure and looking for a challenge.
- Good health record.
- Able to work on own initiative.
