Job Title: Plant Operator

About the Role:

Stericycle is a leading provider of compliance-based solutions that protects people and brands, promotes health and well-being, and safeguards the environment. We are seeking a skilled Plant Operator to join our team at our Avonmouth location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unload vehicles and trailers, and effectively manoeuvre waste on the plant and weigh containers.
  • Ensure waste containers are emptied, cleaned thoroughly, and readily available for collection.
  • Coordinate the reception of all deliveries to the plant, including suppliers and contractors.
  • Oversee the safe handling of loose waste into containers by deliverers.
  • Operate a fork lift truck if required.
  • Participate in plant shutdowns as necessary.
  • Maintain company operational records and data.
  • Draw attention to management any major defects, concerns, or problems with equipment or the building.
  • Work under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and Plant Manager, and assist with duties in the event of a breakdown or controlled stoppage.
  • Observe and comply with all safety notices and signs, and ensure all work is carried out in a safe and proper manner.
  • Attend training courses or instruction specific to the job as required.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic individual.
  • A team player, able to work effectively under pressure, and looking for a challenge.
  • Good health record.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Punctual.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to hours, including shift work.
