CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist

As a Consultant Psychiatrist at Elysium Healthcare, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of young people and their families. You will be working in a 12-bed CAMHS service, supporting individuals aged 12-17 with eating disorders.

You will have overall clinical responsibility for the 24-hour management of child and young people at the service, including implementing assessments for referrals, overseeing the Care Programme Approach, and delegating responsibility and accountability to the Associate Specialists and other medical staff.

As a member of the Medical Directorate, you will be responsible for advising the wider team on psychiatric and medical concerns, which will see you design and deliver training to staff of all disciplines, in particular, the medical staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing referrals and determining appropriateness for admission
• Conducting Admission assessments and ensuring effective management plans
• Conducting risk assessments and reviewing regularly
• Allocating specialist psychological treatments
• Assessing physical health
• Ensuring effective liaison with referring/community teams, specialists, and Commissioners

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• To be registered on the GMC Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a licence to practise.
• To have experience of CAMHS and/or Eating Disorders (desirable).
