About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Counsellor to join our team at Salvation Army Homes, providing one-to-one talk therapies for individuals who have experienced homelessness and complex needs.
As a Volunteer Counsellor, you will work closely with our staff to deliver a comprehensive support service, empowering individuals to develop their skills, strengths, and talents.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the core conditions of counselling, have a strong understanding of community resources and organisations, and be able to build trusting relationships with clients.
You will also need to have:
- Completed at least 50 hours of counselling experience
- Advanced diploma level or degree level in counselling or a related field
- Experience working with clients with complex needs
- A Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Certificate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
