Zest Education Ltd is seeking a part-time Student Support Assistant to join a hard-working team at a primary school in Northfield. The ideal candidate will work 3 days a week, 8:30am till 3:30pm, supporting and encouraging children throughout KS1.

This school fosters a safe and stimulating learning environment, encouraging children to be confident and creative. To align with the school's ethos, the ideal candidate must be able to interact and support the children in an engaging and innovative way.

The part-time Student Support Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Providing teachers with thorough and consistent feedback on student performance, development, and behaviour.
  • Encouraging positive student conduct and handling disputes efficiently, in line with school policies.
  • Creating and maintaining a focused, structured, and supportive environment, in line with lesson plans, and assisting with the exhibition of student work.
  • Assisting with the implementation of structured learning activities.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and using equipment/resources, and assisting students in their use.
  • Building a good working rapport with senior leaders, co-workers, and parents.
  • Helping with student supervision during non-class periods.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Work constructively as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Have general knowledge of the National Curriculum and other learning programmes.
  • Have a desire to make a difference to children's education.
  • Experience working with children in an education-based setting is highly desirable.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS or have the willingness to obtain one.
  • Support the aims and ethos of the school.
  • Level 2 (or higher) or equivalent in a relevant subject area.

We are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years, and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

The salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

This role is for temporary supply work.
