Head of Human Resources

Our client, a leading wholesale food business in Scotland, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join their team. As they embark on a period of significant growth, this role will play a critical part in shaping the future of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- HR Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to create and implement HR strategies that align with the company's objectives and support its journey towards B Corp accreditation.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment process, ensuring the attraction of top talent during this period of growth, and deliver a seamless onboarding experience for new employees.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to staff, handling queries and resolving employee relations issues in line with the company's values as a family business.
- Performance Management: Develop and manage performance appraisals, ensuring a focus on continuous improvement and career development for employees.
- Training & Development: Create and deliver training programs that support the development of staff, closing skills gaps and promoting engagement.
- Payroll & Benefits Management: Oversee payroll processes and employee benefits, ensuring accurate administration and fostering a culture of fairness and transparency.
- Culture & Engagement: Lead initiatives to build and sustain a positive, inclusive workplace culture that reflects the values of a family business.
- HR Reporting: Provide HR metrics and reports to senior management, supporting data-driven decision-making and the company's broader growth objectives.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, ideally within the food, wholesale, or FMCG sectors.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Scottish and UK employment law, compliance standards, and HR best practices.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, with experience in managing HR functions during periods of growth.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to solving complex HR challenges, with a focus on finding solutions that align with both employee needs and business goals.
- IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software systems.
