Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Director of Assurance to join our Audit and Assurance team in Belfast. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality audits and providing valued opinions to our clients.

Estimated Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Job
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious individual with a strong technical skillset and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, promoting quality audit work, and supervising junior members of the team. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop and grow your client portfolio through business tenders and fee negotiation.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage a large and varied portfolio of clients, ensuring timely completion of audits and provision of high-quality advice.
* Promote and oversee quality audit work on client engagements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to expand services and increase revenue.
* Supervise and train junior members of the team, ensuring they meet Grant Thornton's standards and expectations.
* Prepare and present business tenders to develop and grow your client portfolio, negotiating fees and service agreements as required.
* Manage working capital, ensuring efficient processing of invoices and payments.
* Take full responsibility for managing and reviewing the work of the audit team, ensuring quality and timeliness.

Requirements
* ACA/ACCA qualified.
* Minimum 7+ years' experience in assurance or audit.
* Strong technical skills (Irish GAAP and auditing standards; IFRS experience an advantage but not essential).
* Electronic auditing experience; ability to motivate and manage staff under tight deadlines.
* Ability to make professional judgments based on findings.
* Portfolio management experience.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical assessment.
* Experience working as part of a team supporting others.
* Commercial awareness.
* Experience gained in a Big 4 accounting firm would be advantageous.
