Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Transport Administrator to join our team in Chesterfield.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading company in the UK supply chain and logistics industry, specializing in flexible, reliable, and cost-effective supply chain services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispatch drivers using ESP and manage their daily tasks and routes
  • Create barcodes for loads going to other Gist depots using the Booking Portal
  • Track loads for warehouse and email updates to relevant parties
  • Answer phone calls and respond to customer or driver queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Arrange breakdown/callouts for units and trailers out on the road and maintain accurate records
  • Liaise with customer services on any issues at customer sites
  • Complete trackers such as Pizza and Site D detailing arrival and departure times from customer site, as well as sending regular updates
  • Respond to emails from customers and other depots regarding ETA's and other matters
  • Use Microlise to track drivers and send updates to customers and stakeholders
  • Debrief drivers who have finished their runs, sign trip sheets, and complete remaining debrief of route on ESP
  • Archiving all previous months' trip sheets into drawers daily
Requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy at speed
  • Admin experience and strong IT skills, proficient in Office packages including Excel and Word
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and maintain a positive attitude
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to deal with operatives, drivers, and managers
What We Offer
  • An estimated salary of £12.76 per hour, with overtime rates of £13.86 per hour after 40 hours worked
  • A 12-hour shift pattern, 4 days on, 4 days off, with set working hours of 19:00 - 07:00
