Job Title: Clinical/Counselling Psychologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Paediatric Psychosocial Service, you will have the opportunity to work with children, young people, and their families, providing evidence-based psychological assessment and interventions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop tailored interventions to support children and young people with complex needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that address the psychological and emotional needs of patients.
  • Provide consultation, training, and support to healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to enhance their understanding of psychological principles and practices.
  • Supervise and mentor junior colleagues, trainees, and assistant psychologists to ensure the development of their skills and expertise.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects and service evaluations to inform best practice and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Post-qualification experience working within the fields of paediatric, adolescent, or adult health psychology.
  • Experience of working with children and families in community, outpatient, and clinic settings.
  • Knowledge of legislation and national guidance related to the needs of child and adult patients.
