About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based psychological assessment and interventions to children and young people with physical health conditions and their families.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to children and young people, as well as consultation and training to healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical psychology services, including audit and research.
  • Supervise and support junior colleagues, including trainee and assistant psychologists.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or equivalent, accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Post-qualification experience in working with children and young people with physical health conditions.
Desirable
  • Experience in teaching and training staff from other professional groups in psychological skills and concepts.
  • Knowledge of legislation and national guidance in relation to the needs of child and adult patients.
