Speech and Language Therapist for Stroke Rehabilitation:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our stroke team at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating adult clients with communication and swallowing difficulties resulting from stroke or acquired neurological conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat clients with complex communication needs, utilizing your expertise in speech and language therapy
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Conduct videofluoroscopy/FEES assessments and report writing as required
  • Provide training and education to staff members on topics related to stroke rehabilitation and communication disorders

Requirements:
  • A recognised degree qualification in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
  • Health and Care Professions Council - Licence to Practise
  • Registered member of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
  • Postgraduate training in dysphagia
  • Evidence of successful completion of specialist short courses, including dysphagia
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) relevant to the role

Salary:

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £45,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
