About the Role

The Highway Works Inspector plays a vital role in ensuring the safe management of street works activities on the highway network. This involves coordinating and managing activities undertaken by external parties, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and minimizing traffic disruption.

As a key member of the Highway Works Coordination and Licensing Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting ongoing street works activities, monitoring reinstatements, and communicating with the team to ensure effective coordination and management.

This is a challenging role that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and manage conflicting priorities. The successful candidate will be able to maximize revenue for the council associated with delivering this service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect ongoing street works activities and monitor reinstatements
  • Coordinate and manage activities undertaken by external parties
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and minimize traffic disruption
  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure effective coordination and management

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage conflicting priorities
